Missy's Chili

  • 1.5 lbs pasture raised and grass fed ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 Tbsp EVOO
  • 1 - 24oz. can crushed or chopped tomatoes
  • 1 - 14oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 - 2 cans black or kidney beans
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • Optional (1-2 TBS chili powder, Worcestershire, cooked millet)

Sauté chopped onion and garlic in skillet with EVOO.

Add ground beef and cook until done.

Add in tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes and beans and let simmer.

Add in all spices, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. 


The weather this Sunday definitely calls for chili!  

This simple recipe is easy, delicious and will leave you with plenty of leftovers for the week.

Ranch Dip with Veggies

  • 1 cup organic full fat, plain yogurt
  • 1/4 cup organic sour cream
  • 1 Tbsp dried parsley
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried dill
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp pepper



Mix yogurt, sour cream in serving bowl.  Add all the spices, stir and serve with your favorite fresh veggies.


Simple, clean and delicious DIY ranch dip.   This is easy to prepare too - get the kids involved to help mix the ingredients!

Roasted Cauliflower

  • 1 Head of organic cauliflower, sliced
  • Avocado oil
  • Trader Joe's lime chili seasoning
  • Chopped fresh parsley



Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

Toss cauliflower with avocado oil, Trader Joe's chili lime seasoning and parsley.  Roast in oven for 20 minutes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. 


So many ways to serve cauliflower but one of my favorite flavor combinations is to toss with avocado oil or olive oil with and Trader Joe's Chili Lime Seasoning.  If you haven't tried this yet, be sure to add it to your shopping list next time you head to the store!

Spiced Almonds

  • 2 Tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp curry powder
  • 1 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 3 cups raw almonds



Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Heat 2 Tbsp avocado oil in a sauce pan.

Add 1 tsp cumin, 2 tsp curry powder, 1 Tbsp chia seeds and stir

As oil starts to boil remove from heat and add 1 Tbsp of maple syrup.

Add 3 cups raw almonds and toss to coat.

Spread almonds evenly on parchment paper and lightly salt with sea salt.

Bake 10-20 minutes or until nuts are golden brown.

Let cool and enjoy!


Perfect for a Super Bowl Sunday snack!  Store in an air-tight container for snacking later in the week or toss over a salad.  So tasty!

Vegan Nachos

  • 2 cups raw, unsalted cashews
  • 3 cups unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 cup nutritional yeast
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika



Soak cashews in water at least 3 hours or over night (plan ahead).

In a small bowl stir together spices and salt.

Drain cashews and transfer to a blender, high powered mixer or food processor.

Add in spices, nutritional yeast and 2 cups of unsweetened almond milk.

Blend until creamy, adding in remaining almond milk.


Serve over a hearty tortilla chip with taco seasoned ground meat or on the side with salsa.


Nothing shouts Super Bowl like nachos!  Try this delicious vegan 'cheese' sauce.  Plan ahead!  Soak the cashews over night.

Simple Arugula Salad

  • Arugula
  • Red onion, thinly sliced
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Balsamic Vinegar
  • Sea salt & Pepper
  • Optional: goat cheese




Combine all ingredients in a salad bowl, toss and serve!


A family favorite AND super simple.
